Chaplains Corner
Greetings Fellow Veterans The American Legion motto, as you all know, is "For God and Country." As Legion members, does it not follow then to ask ourselves this question: “Is God the priority in my life?” It is so easy to drift away from the Lord, as there are so many different things vying for our attention each and every day. We all served knowing that we might be called upon at some point to give our life in the defense of freedom. Let us never forget that our Lord Jesus willingly gave His life for each one of us in order to give us the opportunity to be set free from the penalty of sin—if one chooses to put their faith and trust in Him for salvation. Can I urge you to begin and end each day by talking to Jesus? He wants to hear from you, because He loves you. If I can be of any help in your spiritual journey, please do not hesitate to call me. I am never too busy to talk to you. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America. For God and Country, Dave Nigh Chaplain, Post 80
Welcome to a New Month and the Beginning of Storm Season
Storm season is here in Florida. Everyone should begin to collect storm supplies if you haven't done so already. Buddy Checks are still on the agenda for June—as they are every day of every month. This is Convention Month, so there will be no General Meeting in June. Hopefully, we can get an Installation Ceremony scheduled to install the 2025–2026 Officers. You are invited to visit the Meet the Officers page and click on each Officer to learn more about them and their service to our Post. Weekly Events Friday Night Steak and Seafood Dinner – Continues this month and remains a favorite! Karaoke – Begins at 8 PM every Friday night Be sure to check the Calendar for more activities offered for your enjoyment. That's it for now. For God and Country, Dan
Hello Legion Family!
Here we are in July already! It’s been a little slow these past few weeks, but things are starting to pick back up. We have a host of events planned for this month, so please be sure to check the calendar for all upcoming activities. 📇 2025/2026 Membership Cards The new 25/26 membership cards are in and ready for all of you early birds to pick up! This year, the Early Bird reward has changed. Here's what you can expect: Early Birds will receive a certificate for a free meal of your choosing. This meal can be used for breakfast, lunch, or dinner on any day that meals are served. You’ll also be entered into a drawing to have your next year's dues paid. The drawing will take place using the same tickets on the same night — giving you multiple chances to win something that evening! 📅 Installation of Officers – Save the Date A special reminder that the Installation of Officers will be held on Saturday, August 16th. This ceremony will include members of the Post, Auxiliary, Sons, and Riders. Event Begins: 4:00 PM Meal to follow the ceremony 💬 Stay Connected Please check back in on this website often! We’re continuously building and improving. Feel free to send us a message with your thoughts or suggestions about what you’d like to see! Dan Brooks Commander, Post 80
